Searching For A Holiday Rental Home France

By Raymond Allen

These days rather than stay in hotels or guest houses many people choose to rent a property for their vacation. If you are planning to visit Europe a holiday rental home france is a great way to spend a well deserved break. This way of living is much more flexible than a hotel stay where guests are tied to specific meal times and activities.

As with any type of rental the cost will vary according to where the property is located, how many it sleeps and what amenities are offered. The range of properties on offer is huge, from a little one bedroom flat to a grand villa for a large number of guests. After deciding on which region to stay in some other things need to be taken into account prior to booking.

Many properties cater for the sporting types and are located near fishing lakes, golf courses and for ski lovers, the Alps. A coastal property in the south of France or an apartment in the capital will be more expensive than one in rural areas so some consideration should be given to this. Many of the lettings offered are fully serviced with maids, gardeners and chefs.

When working out costs it is advisable to look at as many places as possible with the type of property that suits. A small flat can cost as little as 40 dollars a night and two or three bedroom gites will be approximately a hundred dollars per nightly stay. If the vacation is to be spent in one of the major cities the prices will increase significantly.

At the grand end of things a chateau with pool and sauna can be hired for in excess of 10000 dollars per night. This type of accommodation is the height of luxury fitted out to the highest standards and excellently maintained. Luxuries such as cinemas, games rooms and fully stocked bars are offered at this end of the market.

The best place to look when searching for a vacation rental is online, as there are literally thousands on offer. The benefits of these internet sites are that potential guests can look at pictures of the property and in some cases, a virtual video tour. There will also be feedback from satisfied guests and the contact details to speak with the managers or owners.

Having decided on a holiday rental it is advisable to contact the owners or managing agents and check what is included in the price. Water and electricity is often charged separately and this needs to be factored in to the final cost of the break and things such as telephones and WiFi are also billed according to use. It is also worth finding out details such as how far away are the supermarket and medical facilities in case they are needed.

The last thing to be thought about is holiday insurance and if it is part of the rental or to be sourced separately. Nearly all agents and owners will ask for a deposit in the event of any damage or breakages which is then returned when the guests are due to leave if everything is in order. Also as these are not package holidays, transfers to and from the points of arrival and departure may need to be arranged.
