Discovering Different Buenos Aires Vacation Packages

By Richard Foster

When planning an extended vacation, there are often a lot of options, whether planning a solo or family vacation. In the case of South America, individuals will find a lot of different activities including a number of well known music festivals. As such, it is often best to look at a number of different Buenos Aires vacation packages to determine the one which best fits individual or family plans.

As of the 2010 census, there were approximately 2,891,082 citizens in the city with a total of 15,594,420 in the metropolitan area. The city, the largest in the country is located on the Southeastern coast on the west side of the Rio de la Plata river.

Buenos Aires is an autonomous city ran by a city legislature and local politicians. For, in 1880, the city was removed from the province after several heated political battles. Following the infighting, the city limits were modified to include Begrano and Flores which have now become neighborhoods within the city.

The autonomous city is one of the top tourist destinations in South America. For, the city is well known for the preservation of European architecture which is eclectic as well as a rich and vibrant cultural life. In addition, the city became even more popular after hosting the first Pan American Games in 1951, two venues of the 1978 FIFA World Cup and more recently, the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and G20 summit the same year.

Buenos Aires is a diverse and multi-cultural center with a number of religious and ethnic groups whom now call the city home. While Spanish is the known Native language, there are a number of other languages spoken in the country. For, immigrants have been settling in this area of Argentina for well over a century.

When it comes to lifestyle, politics and religion, Buenos Aires has always been accepting of all citizens. Whereas, provinces to the northwest tend to be more conservative, nationalistic and dogmatic. In fact, many are based in Catholicism and often take a much different approach to political and social issues. For, liberals and conservatives often have vastly different approaches when it comes to looking at and resolving issues in these areas.

The tension between factions in Argentina's history can actually be traced back to these differences beginning with the centralist-federalists conflicts in the nineteenth century. After which, Buenos Aires sent a number of troops to the provinces in hopes of gaining approval for different actions. While this is the case, little was achieved as most missions resulted in clashes which were extremely violent and only worked to fuel existing tensions between the provinces and the capital.

While there are some countries who now frown on immigration, if not for immigrants from Spain and Italy, Buenos Aires would not be the city it is today. For, it is these individuals who brought ideas such as building a vibrant art and theater scene. In addition, over the years, the city has become active in television, radio, cinema and theater. Whether a lover of music festivals, outdoor activities or just sight seeing in nature, South America has a lot to offer whether visiting this area or others.
