Tips For All Fighter Pilots

By Jonny Blair

War has taken a new turn once soldiers were able to fly. Suddenly, especially during the first and second world war, nations with the aerial firepower and the best fighter pilots had the upper hand. It took great skill and bravery for a pilot to fly a fighter jet. Every time they are airborne, they know they are one step closer to death.

Aerial firepower can help troops on the ground in localized war zones. It can make or break the tide of a war. Thus, flying fighter jets is the purview of a special few with the bravery and skill to survive. Not everyone has the moxie required. The airborne have to face tough odds and perform amazing feats that bring them perilously close to death at times. Even peacetime accidents can happen.

A would-be junior pilot must train thoroughly in military aviation, which differs considerably from the civilian type. They may eventually engage in air-to-air or air-to-ground combat, and thus must know the score. Top pilots are called Aces and it is a honor indeed, denoting not just experience, but war time accolades as well. Not every pilot who trains gets to try out their new craft. Drones are rapidly taking over the field much to the dismay of the younger generation.

This group of the best and the mightiest learns to fly practically blindfold. This means it is second nature and completely ingrained. Learning aerial maneuvers will get a pilot out of a jam and into safer territory. It will help conquer the gravitational pull of the g-force which has felled more than one ace. Knowing how to overcome physical stress to avoid a blackout is a minimal requirement for combat.

A pilot may be fully trained and not get to go into a war zone, even once. He or she may have to pursue the civilian path for a commercial airline or private clients. Those who do go into combat describe it as a challenging and intense career. The word enjoyment might even apply. They do not shy away from it, however, and embrace the possibilities without trepidation.

Individuals who have an experience in flying can definitely be thrilled because they will be trained and partnered with a real experienced military aviator. In the jet, the licensed/trained military aviator will be there to control the flight. He will give you the control from time to time depending on your expertise level.

They will make sure that you are properly oriented on the ground with classroom sessions before you fly. They offer flying lessons for those with zero experience too. For everyone, what is taught most importantly is how to deal with worst-case scenarios to ensure your safety. To be a trained military aviator for a day is definitely the ultimate gift for the thrill seeker.
